"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."
Helen Keller

I love the quote and it suits the picture perfectly. Yes. Risk is part of what it means to really be a live. Safety is an illusion.

I've been chewing on this quote today, thinking of experiences in my own life where Helen has been right on with her assessment. The fence is at Ft. Hood and it looks pretty secure. In reality, I'm sure there are many ways to scale it and also many ways to get in without going near the fence.

I really like the quote, and the photo is from a great perspective.

Very nice juxtaposition of word and image.

The photo is from a great angle and very well composed. I like the quote you paired with it too. They work together in a literal and figurative way too.

Very good Susan...And I agree with Julie--although for me, it's easier said than done. I'm sending the quote to my two boys who want to go mountain climbing...time for Mother to say, "DO IT!"
