My First Paycheck...

in over 21 years! O Happy Day! Can you see my name? In case you can't see the amount, it is a whopping SIX DOLLARS AND 74 CENTS! This check, minus FICA and Medicare of course, is for the substitute teacher training I attended. There are many great reasons to teach, but money is not one of them! Nevertheless, I was pretty excited about my first check... even if the amount is miniscule.

YEAH! There is something about earning money that makes us feel more worthy. It shouldn't make a hill of beans difference, becuase the work we do that we don't get paid for is just as valuable (if not more so), but there really is no feeling like that of receiving monetary compensation for our effort!

I hope you enjoy substituting as much as I did!

Congrats! :) When do you get the check for the 2nd graders? That should be ALOT more with everything you went through! *lol*

Yay Susan! It is a great feeling to have that check in hand no matter what the amount.

Congratulations!

I made an average of $2 an hour when I taught at Point Loma, including my prep time. Teaching is not something one goes into for the money....
