"The deeper our attachment to whatever provides us with this sense of completeness, the greater our fear of losing it, and the more brutal our pain if we do lose it."

Wow, powerful picture and quote. I don't think the answer is less-deep attachments. But willingness to accept deep pain as well as deep love and joy?

Many years ago, I found a quote about how pain carves our space in our hearts for more joy...

Losing loved ones can happen so many ways... death being the only "final" loss--

Hugs to you in your journey and your ponderings.

Thank you everyone for your love. I am hoping for a better marriage and a happier home life.

Mary, so true that life is a mixture of pain and joy. Perhaps there will be more joy because of this journey.
